Scope and Contents The papers (ca. 1 cubic foot), consist of drafts and related correspondence for a three part, largely unpublished work entitled "A Complete History of the Virginia Military Institute, 1839-1924". One part was eventually published as "VMI in the World War." Also included are miscellaneous VMI-related notes and papers.

Scope and Contents Autobiographical letter from Moses J. Ezekiel to VMI historian Joseph R. Anderson, Jr. Ezekiel recounts his experience as a VMI Cadet at the Battle of New Market on May 15, 1864 and his post-VMI career through July 1904. He discusses caring for his classmate Thomas Jefferson, who was mortally wounded in the battle; expresses regret for missing VMI reunion at which New Market Medals were issued to veterans.
