Transcript of interview with VMI alumnus and retired faculty members/administrator Gen. James M. Morgan, Jr., Class of 1945. The interview was conducted in 2006 by James Dittrich, VMI Class of 1976. It covers General Morgan's years during World War II at VMI and in the Army Enlisted Reserve Corps (ERC); recollections about graduate school work; and his early teaching career at VMI. The bulk of the discussion covers the years 1941-1957.

Biographical / Historical
James M. Morgan, Jr. was a member of the VMI Class of 1945. He subsequently received the PhD in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He spend 38 years at VMI, as a professor and later head of the Civil Engineering Department; he then served as Dean of the Faculty. Morgan retired from VMI in 1984.
