Biographical / Historical
Landsdale graduated from VMIin 1933. He was called to active duty in 1941; ordered to G-2, War Department General staff; in 1944 was transferred to the Manhattan Engineer district where he was in command of intelligence and security for the Atomic Bomb Project. He initiated the Alsos Mission which located and investigated the German atomic bomb project.
