The Board of Visitors is the governing body of the Virginia Military Institute. The first Board meeting was held in May 1839 and it has operated continuously since that time.

Physical minutes (bound volumes) are periodically transferred from the Secretary to the Board. Digital minutes are captured from the VMI website and added to digital repository as soon as minutes are posted.
