Love letter, December 1860, written by a Cadet named "Willie" to his cousin Mary. It and largely concerns their relationship. There is a brief mention of cleaning up his Barracks room for inspection; and of guard duty.

The writer of this letter has not been verified. The letter was once attributed to Cadet William H. Cabell, who was killed at the Battle of New Market. However, this item appears to be clearly dated 1860, and Cabell did not enroll at VMI until December 1861.
