The collection consists of photographs of the Class of 1949A during their time as cadets (3 items), his framed diploma, an album of photographs from the 50th reunion of the Class of 1949A, photographs of the statue of Stonewall Jackson on the VMI Post (2 items), and framed VMI themed artwork (2 items).

Also included in the collection are Millimet's citations for his promotion to Second Lieutenant (1948) and Colonel (1971) in the United States Army, his master's thesis from the Air Force Institute of Technology (1967) and U.S. Army distinctive unit insignia pins (11 items) for this units in which he served.

Biographical / Historical

Stanley Millimet was born in 1928. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute as a member of the Class of 1949A and received a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was named the key logistician in the Department of the Army in 1970 and he commanded a tank battalion from 1970-1971. Millimet retired from the army in 1971 with the rank of Colonel. He died in 2013.
