George T. Coleman letters

Scope and Contents Two letters from Cadet Coleman (Class of 1870) to his brother William D. Coleman (Class of 1857, later editor of the Richmond Enquirer), dated Feb 11 & 18, 1868. Primary subject of Feb. 11 letter is Cadet Coleman's reinstatement at VMI. The letter of Feb. 18 encloses a Letter to Editor in which he defends the Corps of Cadets against accusations that they had been harassing black citizens of Lexington, Virginia. Includes envelopes.
