Scope and Contents This small collection consists of miscellaneous personal papers found in the Kilbourne family home in 2016. It includes a file of correspondence and memoranda (1898-1937) dating from his career in the U. S. Army, primarily letters of recommendation; photographs; scrapbooks; newspaper clippings; and misc. subject files. Includes material relating to Gen. Kilbourne's long association with the Philippines....
Contents Note Miscellaneous papers (9 items) dating from the World War II army service of Harold P. Clark, VMI Class of 1941. Included are two personal letters (1946) from Gen. Wither A. Burress to Clark, and 7 snapshots of Clark and other army officers.
Scope and Contents The John K. Davis papers consist of original propaganda leaflets directed at the Japanese troops and civilians, 1945; personal correspondence written to his parents and largely concerning family matters, 1945-1946; formal photographs of Davis from his cadetship, Army career, and civilian career; amateur snapshots of Manila and surrounding area, ca. 1945; maps of Japanese cities issued to officers, 1945; "Guide to Japan", September 1945; and miscellaneous other printed material.
Scope and Contents The collection consists of World War II era maps and listings of geodesic points used by Sinclair while fighting in Europe; and items dating from Sinclair's VMI cadetship, including cadet account book, listing school expenses 1927-1931; dance and finals programs.
Scope and Contents The collection consists of the United States Army Commission document of William Fitzhugh Lee, VMI Class of 1853. The document is dated August 1, 1856 and is signed by Secretary of War Jefferson Davis. During the Civil War Lee served as Lt. Col., 33rd Virginia Infantry Regiment, and was killed at Manassas in July 1861.
