Scope and Contents Miscellaneous papers, 1929-1935, of VMI alumnus Henry M. Stewart, Jr., Class of 1935. The collection includes memorabilia from Stewart's high school years at the Staunton Military Academy and his cadetship at VMI. The VMI material includes a scrapbook, dance and athletic programs, drawings, photographs, information about the Class of 1935 ring design, and other mementos of Stewart's cadetship.
Scope and Contents Scrapbook compiled by VMI Cadet Lomax Gwathmey, documenting his cadetship. Includes photographs of the Class of 1948 Ring Figure; President Dwight D. Eisenhower greeting VMI Glee Club members; scenes from everyday cadet life; programs, clippings, and other memorabilia. Also includes 2 photographs dating from Gwathmey's tour of duty in Vietnam.
Scope and Contents The Simeon O. Coxe collection contains a one volume typewritten transcription of letters written by Cadet Coxe (Virginia Military Institute Class of 1933) to his parents in Richmond, Virginia. The letters cover Coxe's entire cadetship (1929-1933) and contain a detailed record of VMI student life during early 1930's. Topics include daily routines; hazing; financial concerns; academics; athletics; ROTC summer camp at Fort Hoyle, Maryland; and the Ring Figure dance.

Scope and Contents A collection of VMI class ring designs from 1927 forward. New rings are designed by each VMI Class and are presented to Class members during November of their Second Class (Junior) year. The presentation is followed by a formal dance known as Ring Figure.
Scope and Contents Papers documenting the U. S. Marine Corps career of William G. McClure, Jr., Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1943. The bulk of the papers concern the period of his active duty during World War II, when he served with the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart.
