Scope and Contents This collection consists of two letters from cadet George T. Coleman (Class of 1870) to his brother William D. Coleman (Class of 1857, later editor of the Richmond Enquirer), dated February 11 and 18, 1868. The primary subject of February 11 letter is cadet Coleman's reinstatement at VMI. The letter of February 18 encloses a Letter to the Editor in which he defends the Corps of Cadets against accusations that they had been harassing black citizens of Lexington, Virginia. Includes envelopes.
