Scope and Contents
This collection consists of two items. One letter (dated September 2, 1865) from Junius L. Hempstead to DeWitt C. Craun in which he defends the position taken by the South during the Civil War and his own service in the Confederate States of America. The other item is a manuscript poem (undated) titled "Ode to the 4th Classmen of 1861 who never heard Auld Lang Syne."
